The Department of Defense awarded 10 defense contracts Monday, worth $214.3 million altogether. Among the companies winning contracts:
- L-3 Communications (LLL) won a $50.9 million firm-fixed-price, multi-year contract to supply Automated Installation Entry hardware and software to the U.S. Army for use at up to 35 military installations by April 13, 2018.
- General Dynamics (GD -5.26%) subsidiary American Overseas Marine LLC was awarded a $32.7 million option exercise to operate and maintain seven large, medium-speed, roll-on/roll-off ships for the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command for one additional year, through April 2015.
- BAE Systems (BAES.Y 1.02%) (LSE: BA) won a $6.7 million contract to supply 14 AN/UPX-41 (C) Digital Interrogators and 33 Mode 5 Identification Friend or Foe field change kits to the U.S. Navy, along with two Digital Interrogators and 12 IFF kits to the Government of Japan. Delivery is due December 2015.
