Although we don't believe in timing the market or panicking over market movements, we do like to keep an eye on big changes -- just in case they're material to our investing thesis.

What: Shares of TAL Education (NYSE: XRS) fell 12% today in a curious move.

So what: The news wires were silent, SEC filings were non-existent, and volume wasn't even enough to take note of. But Chinese competitors Ambow Education (NYSE: AMBO) and New Oriental Education & Technology (NYSE: EDU) also fell today.

Now what: There may be some profit-taking going on today, but there's still an eerie silence surrounding Chinese education stocks today. That's enough to scare this Fool from buying in on a day like this one. I'm going to wait until some solid news to come out before jumping in.
