Having an introductory offer that reduces your interest rate is great. But intro offers run out. A card with low ongoing APR saves you money on interest fees well beyond the typical intro offer. The Navy Federal More Rewards American Express® Credit Card's regular interest rate range is lower than the majority of credit cards from the bigger issuers. Applicants with the best credit will be offered a super-low rate at the bottom of the range. Even if you get a rate from the top of the range, you're still likely to fare better than you would with other cards.

This card only has a few downsides of note, but they'll be major downsides for many potential cardholders.
Arguably the biggest drawback of the Navy Federal More Rewards American Express® Credit Card is that only a small subset of the population can qualify. Why? You need to be a member of Navy Federal Credit Union to apply for the Navy Federal More Rewards American Express® Credit Card.
Here's who is eligible for Navy Federal Credit Union membership:
Navy Federal doesn't publish their credit score requirements, but a good to excellent credit score will typically give you the best chances of approval. If you're already a Navy Federal member, you can check to see if you're prequalified. This will give you a decent idea of if you'll be approved without impacting your credit score.
If you're a service member in the armed forces, the Navy Federal More Rewards American Express® Credit Card is a really solid everyday card. With bonus rewards on gas, dining, groceries, and transit, it covers pretty much all of your bases.
The low ongoing APR and intro APR deal on purchases make this a decent card, but there's no intro APR offer for balance transfers.
