17 Countries That Are Welcoming Vaccinated Travelers Right Now

Some countries are open for visitors, but many restrictions still apply.
After more than a year of quarantines and travel restrictions, many folks are eager to get back out into the world. While the ongoing pandemic means many countries are still restricting foreign travelers, some places are open for tourists -- especially travelers who are fully vaccinated. So if your personal finances are in order, and you've been craving to get away, now may be the time.
Keep in mind that most authorities, including the State Department and CDC, still advise avoiding unnecessary travel. Moreover, most countries open to U.S. tourists have a State Department Travel Advisory Level 4 "Do Not Travel" designation.
It's also important to note that while some countries are allowing visitors, you'll still likely run into a number of restrictions. For example, most countries on our list have strict mask and social distancing requirements. You'll also run into local curfews that restrict movement at night and/or between areas. And expect to see many venues closed or operating under occupancy limitations.
Additionally, if you test positive for COVID-19 at any point while in another country, you will likely be required to quarantine at your own expense. As such, many destinations will require you to show proof of international health insurance sufficient to cover your COVID-19 treatment.
