7 Amazing Sam's Club Buys Under $20

Many or all of the products here are from our partners that compensate us. It’s how we make money. But our editorial integrity ensures our experts’ opinions aren’t influenced by compensation. Terms may apply to offers listed on this page.

KEY POINTS

  • Lots of everyday items can be found at Sam's Club at a remarkable value, from hearing aid batteries to laundry detergent.
  • Most Sam's Club products come in bulk sizes, so make sure you can use it up before it goes bad.
  • Or, better yet, look for items with a long shelf life, like maple syrup.

Costco may be the warehouse club that gets the most attention, but Sam's Club has just as many deals inside its (giant) walls. And with a lower annual membership cost than Costco, Sam's Club may be an even better personal finance bargain for many shoppers.

Many of the items we use every day can not only be found inside your local club, but they can be had for a great value. Here are some of our top finds for under $20.

1. Member's Mark Hearing Aid Batteries: $10.98

Hearing aids can be miraculous devices…provided they have power. So you need reliable batteries -- and lots of them. This can be extremely expensive if you're picking up your batteries from the grocery store, or even from places like Walmart. That's why the Member's Mark Hearing Aid batteries are such a great deal. You can find three different sizes online -- 10A, 13, and 312 -- in packs of 40 for just $10.98. That works out to about $0.28 per battery.

2. Member's Mark Organic Maple Syrup: $12.68

I'll cut a lot of corners to save money on meals, but using real maple syrup is non-negotiable in my house. Member's Mark Organic Maple Syrup is pretty yummy in my opinion, and it's a great value at just $12.68 for 32 ounces (about $0.40 per ounces). Even if you don't go through syrup as fast as we do, maple syrup lasts more or less indefinitely when properly stored.

3. Member's Mark Parchment Paper: $15.48

If you do a lot of cooking, chances are good you go through parchment paper like (I'm sorry) it grows on trees. Member's Mark parchment paper comes in a two-pack of 205-square-foot rolls for just $15.48. I can tell you from experience that one roll can last a surprisingly long time, even when you're baking up a storm.

4. Member's Mark Whole Bean Coffee: $15.98

It's an undisputed fact that the best-tasting coffee comes from freshly ground beans, and based on the reviews, Member's Mark coffee beans are worth the trouble of breaking out the grinder. It comes in two styles -- Colombian Supremo and French Roast -- depending on how strong you like your coffee. A 40-ounce bag will run you $15.98.

5. Member's Mark Kitchen Trash Bags: $18.98

Trash bags are one of those things that you buy literally to throw away -- but they're still essential parts of our daily lives. Of course, that doesn't mean you want to buy a box of them every week. You can get a 200-count box of 13-gallon Member's Mark Power Flex Tall Kitchen Drawstring trash bags for $18.98, which means you'll pay just $0.10 a bag.

6. Member's Mark Dental Dog Treats: $18.98

Dental care is as vital to our puppers as it is to us. Except they don't have thumbs, so it's up to us to help them out. Member's Mark Dental Chew Treats for Dogs can help reduce plaque, keeping your dog's teeth healthier. A 30-count package will cost $18.98, or just $0.63 per treat.

7. Member's Mark Laundry Pacs: $19.48

I made the switch to laundry pacs a while ago, and I don't miss liquid detergent at all. Member's Mark Laundry Detergent Power Pacs are easy to use -- just chuck them in with your clothes -- and a good value. You'll only pay $19.48 for a large box of 130 pacs. Most normal loads only take one pac, so you're looking at about $0.15 per load.

Save more with the right credit card

Unlike Costco (which only accepts cards on the Visa network), Sam's Club doesn't limit which credit cards you can use. So you can choose the rewards card that offers the best return on wholesale club purchases. Make sure you check your cash back cards with rotating rewards, as they occasionally offer wholesale clubs as a bonus category.
