Huntington Bank CD rates show you don't need to be a big bank to offer big returns. You'll need to show up in person to score these deals, however, and Huntington Bank has a small footprint. See the options, and who can take advantage of them, in our complete Huntington Bank CD review.
APY = Annual Percentage Yield
Huntington Bank offers a huge selection of standard CD rate terms, but the APYs are so small that you could definitely find better CD rates, savings account rates, and other banking account product rates that far outpace what Huntington Bank offers for its standard CDs.

Unlike Huntington Bank's standard CD offerings, its two promotional CDs offer excellent APYs that are very competitive with other CDs currently on the market.

Huntington Bank offers a range of fixed-rate CDs with both promotional and standard rates. The promotional APYs (annual percentage yield) are surprisingly competitive, while the standard rates are…not.
APY = Annual Percentage Yield
The overall APY of Huntington Bank's promotional CDs is quite competitive, even against 6-month rates from some large online banks. Though it's worth noting that term lengths are somewhat unconventional -- most banks offer 6-month and 12-month short-term CDs, while Huntington has 7- and 11-month CDs.
Unfortunately, Huntington doesn't let you open a new promotional CD online. Instead, you need to do so in person at a Huntington Bank branch. This may be easier said than done, since Huntington only has branches in six states.
APY = Annual Percentage Yield
Unlike Huntington Bank's promotional CD rates, the standard rates are most decidedly not competitive. I can't think of a single good reason to get one of these CDs, as you can get exponentially better rates from any of our favorite high-yield savings accounts, let alone other CDs.
To make matters worse, you can't open these accounts online. You have to be in one of the just six states in which Huntington Bank has branches.
Huntington Bank also offers the following CD accounts:
A promotional-rate CD from Huntington Bank can be a good option for anyone who wants a short-term CD with a competitive rate -- assuming they live in the Huntington Bank service area.
The bank requires you to open a CD in person at a branch. While Huntington Bank operates in 11 states, it only has actual bank branches in six:

Yes, for the most part, you can manage your Huntington Bank accounts online or through its mobile bank app. However, some actions -- such as opening a new CD account -- must be done in person at a bank branch.
