<THE HARRY JONES PORTFOLIO>
by Harry Jones
(March 3, 1999) -- Irv is thinking about where to go for vacation before the season gets under way. In 1984, we drove to Yellowstone National Park for our family vacation. That was many years before the big forest fire.
We went to see the forests and waterfalls, the sulfur pits and the geysers. Of course, Old Faithful is on everybody's list to see and it's surrounded by people usually, especially as it comes closer to every hour that it goes off. It goes off just about every hour and ten minutes, if memory serves me, and it's just about as certain as a Timex. It wasn't very exciting to watch it happen.
Today the S&P rose 0.18%.
