<THE HARRY JONES PORTFOLIO>
by Harry Jones
(April 22, 1999) -- Progress doesn't come one day at a time. It comes one idea at a time, and it usually takes a big idea for it to be called progress. On a daily basis, though, I've known many people and dealt with plenty of companies that didn't show progress each day. Often the opposite. As soon as they get a new and good idea, though, they begin to show progress again. That's true with people and the same is true with companies.
The S&P rose 1.7%.
