The bulk shipping industry is a base essential. The Baltic Dry Index for spot rates is so low that it is actually meaningless to the point of absurdity. The lines of credit for letters of credit are open again. China has announced a major railroad expansion into Shanxi province. The US is talking about major infrastructure expansion. Brazil has major deposits of high grade iron ore. South America is one of the major natural resource capitals of the world. Navios Maritime is in an excellent position because of its well grounded transport base of South American agriculture and natural resource products. Navios Maritime has long exercised a conservative busiess plan intending to be around for a long time. A good stock to hold long.
