    There is no room to lower the margin on tablets and smart phones. Apple squeezed margins to the minimum and keeps tab on global component supplies. Economies of scale is in Apple's favor right now.

    In Google world everything is free for the consumer. Google is ad supported media. They could be giving away tablets and phones for free but that would cost an unthinkable amount of money for them.
