NVIDIA Beats on EPS but GAAP Results Lag

NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA  ) reported earnings on Feb. 15. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS details
Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.26. The 16 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $0.24 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $0.19 for Q4 were 32% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.28 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 52.2%, 410 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 13.6%, 30 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 12.2%, 720 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $923.6 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.16.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $4.14 billion. The average EPS estimate is $0.93.

Investor sentiment
