On Friday, National CineMedia (NASDAQ: NCMI ) announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Gary Ferrera is resigning effective March 1, 2013, in order to "pursue another opportunity in an industry unrelated to the business of the Company."

The company, which produces the FirstLook "commercials" that run before the actual movies begin at movie theaters, has not yet named a replacement. However, management says it is "initiating a search" for a new CFO, and hopes to have one picked out before, or shortly after, Ferrera's departure.

Shares of the company closed 0.1% lower Friday ahead of the announcement, at $15.08.
