On Thursday, defense contractor Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC ) announced a pair of shifts in its executive ranks. Vice President, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer Kenneth L. Bedingfield has been appointed Vice President for Business Management and Chief Financial Officer for the company's Aerospace Systems sector. Taking his place is current CFO for Northrop's Information Systems business Michael Hardesty, who now becomes Chief Accounting Officer for the whole company.
In addition to handling corporate accounting and "ensuring the integrity of the company's financial data and reporting," Hardesty, a nine-year veteran of the company, will now be responsible for providing financial advice to Northrop's senior management, and also to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
