Search giant Google (NASDAQ: GOOG ) has now officially launched a new high-resolution touchscreen laptop called the Chromebook Pixel, just a day after The Wall Street Journal reported that the company was developing such a device. The Chromebook Pixel carries a touchscreen 12.85-inch display with a 2560 x 1700 resolution at 239 pixels per inch.
The device will also run on an Intel Core i5 processor that's much more powerful than processors in other Chromebooks. Google will also offer a model with built-in 4G LTE cellular connectivity on Verizon Wireless' network.
The Wi-Fi only model will have 32 GB of storage and retail for $1,299 while the LTE model will have 64 GB of storage and sell for $1,449.
