Mondelez (MDLZ -0.71%) isn't too proud to back a rival.

The global food giant behind the Tassimo single-serve coffee platform announced on Monday that it was launching espresso capsules that are compatible with Nestle's (NSRGY -1.55%) Nespresso in key European markets. The move is somewhat similar to Starbucks (SBUX -1.02%) expanding its deal with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR.DL) even after putting out its own single-serve coffee system last year.
