Pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly (LLY 1.48%) announced yesterday its third-quarter dividend of $0.49 per share, the same rate it's paid since 2009.
The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Sept. 10 to the holders of record at the close of business on Aug. 15. The pharmaceutical has made quarterly payouts to investors since 1972.
The regular dividend payment equates to a $1.96-per-share annual dividend, yielding 3.7% based on the closing price of Eli Lilly's stock on June 18.
