Exelis to Supply Pakistan with Advanced Electronic Warfare Tech

The Department of Defense awarded $1.29 billion in funding through 18 new defense contracts Monday. Britain's Exelis (NYSE: XLS) won two of them:

• A sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract worth up to $10.9 million to supply the U.S. Army with unspecified receiver-transmitters and wiring harness spare parts for one year, through Dec. 25, 2014.
• A $9.8 million foreign military sales contract modification to supply the Pakistani military with "classified and unclassified" spare parts for AN/ALQ-211 (V)-9 Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suite Pods. The AN/ALQ-211 unit enables an aircraft to detect radar, jamming, and laser signals directed at an aircraft, also permits the detection of chemical weapons in the environment.
