In case you forgot after EXCO Resources (NYSE:XCO) made the deal to buy acreage in the Eagle Ford Shale to then sell part of it back to investment group KKR (NYSE:KKR), EXCO is very good at producing natural gas on the cheap, and it showed this past quarter. It's not that the company produced more oil and gas than expected -- it was how cheap it was able to do it. So while overall earnings numbers were a little discouraging, EXCO's ability to translate efficient operations from its core in the Haynesville to the Eagle Ford could mean good things.
