I've always said that Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) is the world's most effective and profitable leech. Why create content when you can make so much money by simply sifting through the fruits of others' hard work, aggregating it, and selling keyword ads based on it?

We might find out just how far Google can go with its plans as the company tries to fight this Belgian copyright-infringement case. (New York Times registration required.) Here's an AP version you can read pronto.
