Not every company is slashing its dividend these days. Some of the market's better performers are easing up on their purse strings and sending more money out to their shareholders.

Let's take a closer look at some of the companies that inched their payouts higher this past week.

First up is ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP). The energy giant is fueling its quarterly dividends with a 6% boost to $0.50 a share. Shareholders have come to see this as an annual rite, since ConocoPhillips has increased its yield every year since its 2002 formation.

RPM (NYSE: RPM) is working on an even longer streak, having jacked up its payout in each of the past 36 years. The coatings and sealants specialist's latest move is a modest 3% increase, and investors will now receive $0.205 a share every three months.

Reynolds American (NYSE: RAI) is also lighting up its disbursements. The tobacco titan's new quarterly dividend is $0.90 a share, a 6% improvement. This isn't much of a surprise. Rival Philip Morris International (NYSE: PM) propped up its payout last month.

Finally we have ONEOK Partners (NYSE: OKS) rewarding its investors. The natural gas partnership's new quarterly distribution rate is $1.09 a share. It may be a marginal uptick over its most recent $1.08-a-share rate, but ONEOK is now yielding a whopping 7.8%.

Some of these moves may not seem like much, but consider the less savory moves that took place in recent days. FNB United, for example, completely eliminated its quarterly disbursements.
