Editor's Note: On Wednesday, a committee vote in the Senate rejected the proposal for a net neutrality amendment to the broadband bill. However, that doesn't mean the issue has gone away. We at the Fool still believe it's an important issue to discuss, so in the spirit of community debate, we give you the Duel.

Net neutrality is a hot topic these days. Maintaining the same pricing for all Internet traffic, instead of creating a tiered pricing system, was a divisive issue long before it became Congressional chatter fodder earlier this week.

Although it may matter to you as a consumer down the road, it should matter to you as an investor right now. Whether you're a shareholder in AT&T (NYSE:T) or Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA), or snapping up shares in Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) or eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY), odds are that your company has plenty at stake when it comes to net neutrality.

What does the Fool think? Hey! This is Dueling Fools. What do you expect? Not all Fools agree. In a special installment of Dueling Fools today, Anders Bylund and Alyce Lomax can't see eye to eye when it comes to this controversial issue.

Anders favors net neutrality, while Alyce is bearish on the issue. No matter where you stand on this hotly debated matter -- if you're even taking a stand at all -- now would be the ideal time to absorb opinions from both camps before deciding for yourself.

Duel on!
