The reign of the chip kings is over. After three consecutive weeks on the throne, today they give way to home-furnishing stores, which, as a group, have returned 21.5% since late October.

No one else even comes close. Not even the money-grubbers. Financiers are a distant second, with a 13.3% average gain over the past 30 days.

Third place, meanwhile, brings a new entrant: voice and data service providers. As a group, these chalky talkies have improved 4.7% as a group over the past month.
