The Best Green Energy Stock

Green energy is one of the biggest trends right now, and investors are understandably interested in identifying attractive green energy stocks for their portfolios.

In this video, Motley Fool analyst John Reeves talks with David Meier, who manages a portfolio called Trends and Trades for, about his favorite green energy stock idea. Dave highlights a biofuel maker whose product may become price-competitive with oil someday soon. That would be a dramatic breakthrough since this company's fuel burns with reduced emissions.

Green energy will have a hard time growing as long as we still park trillons of dollars in fossil fuel assets like oil, coal, natural gas, etc.. Yes, trillons,,, who will we sell those stocks to?? nobody has that much.. We are loathe to switch from fossil fuel stocks to green stocks because we will stand to lose our shirts... So we stay put and look for ever rising fossil fuel prices to maintain our investments in "good stead" without much consideration for the future growth of our economy. We figure as long as we still have important jobs that we cannot be laid off or offshored, why bother to sell fossil fuel stocks and switch to green stocks for economic growth.. who cares?? So there you go.... paralyzed ! Also, there is a great missing ingredient in solar energy!! It is mirrors!!! not photovotltaics which we have too much of... Solar companies can do well to diversify into solar thermal energy away from electricity conversion from sunlight that is not as efficient as mirrors... Think home heating.. YOU cannot heat homes with PVs can you ?? NO way !! Only with mirrors... Now ,go and design good looking mirrors that people can swalllow and put in their yards for heating homes through windows or skylights whatever.. what are you staring at me for,, get busy ! Go !
