The New Kings of Telecom

The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which consumer-goods editor/analyst Austin Smith and financial and economics sector head Ilan Moscovitz discuss topics around the investing world.

In today's edition, Ilan and Austin discuss the surprising new kings of telecom. While they're certainly names you will recognize, they might not be the companies you'd guess. There is a monumental power shift going on in the telecom space, and these companies are quickly becoming the industry shot-callers.

Big tech names gather a lot of investor attention, but the truth is that they're playing second fiddle to an even larger revolution in technology. To better prepare investors for this new revolution, The Motley Fool has just released a free report on mobile named "The Next Trillion-Dollar Revolution" that details a hidden component play inside mobile phones that also is a market leader in the exploding Chinese market. Inside the report, we not only describe why the mobile revolution will dwarf any other technology revolution seen before it, but we also name the company at the forefront of the trend. The Steve Jobs Betrayal
You may already know that in the final year of his life, Jobs revealed a stunning betrayal — and told his biographer, "I will spend my last dying breath... and every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank to right this wrong." What was it that made Jobs so irate — and why could it make a few in-the-know investors some major profits over the coming months and years?

Enter your email address below to find out what made Jobs so enraged!

Did I hear him correct? He is so against Nokia, as per him Nokia doesn't have a compelling product that will attract cunsumers. When was this video shot? Has he ever heard/seen Nokia Lumia product line? He seems to be so out of touch, I wouldn't listen to him. Lumia has got so many great reviews from techies in last few months and it is selling like a hot cake in Europe. US is just waiting to feel it and I am one waiting to buy one hot product from Nokia. Yes, you heard me right, HOT!!

Great article. iPhone, HTC, and Samsung are indeed the hot phones to have doing everything people and organizations all over the world do. Once Apple Siri gains momentum, the iPhone will pull much farther ahead as Apple Siri users will speak and listen to the iPhone instead of using old clunky keyboards, and even touchscreen with fingers when using the iPhone with Siri.

I prefer the physical keyboard as opposed to touchscreen

No more keyboards when the iPhone apps listen for input instead of users having to type in input. Touchscreen is also no more needed.

No, you will have say exactly same thing for like 10 times before Siri understand what you just said. Does anyone remember automated customer cares where the system never understands what you say and finally you hang up with frustration?

Siri is just for fun not a serious thing. Use it for a week and then you will get so bored that you would want to delete the app but you can't.
