The heady growth of the tablet market has been one of the major tech story lines of the past several years, and no company sits more at the center of this revolution than Apple. However, as this area becomes more crucial to all of technology, competition has clearly followed. In tandem with its expected announcement of the iPad 3 launch this March, recently rumors suggest that Apple also might include a smaller 8-inch version of the popular device. We saw Apple undertake a similar strategy of differentiation in its revolutionary iPod. Will Apple pursue this same path with the iPad?
