Another Big Move for the King of Tablets

The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which the Fool's Andrew Tonner and Brendan Byrnes discuss topics around the investing world.

The heady growth of the tablet market has been one of the major tech story lines of the past several years, and no company sits more at the center of this revolution than Apple. However, as this area becomes more crucial to all of technology, competition has clearly followed. In tandem with its expected announcement of the iPad 3 launch this March, recently rumors suggest that Apple also might include a smaller 8-inch version of the popular device. We saw Apple undertake a similar strategy of differentiation in its revolutionary iPod. Will Apple pursue this same path with the iPad?

These companies are just one way to play the tech revolution, but there is a better Foolish pick, too. The Motley Fool has just released a free report on mobile named "The Next Trillion-Dollar Revolution" that details a hidden component play inside mobile phones that's also absolutely dominating the exploding tech market in China. Inside the report, we not only describe why the mobile revolution will dwarf any other technology revolution seen before it, but we also name the company at the forefront of the trend. Hundreds of thousands have requested access to previous reports, but you can be among the first to access this just-released report by clicking here -- it's free.

Infektu - That's why they are looking at 8". And the important word is looking. I don't expect we will ever see one, atleast not in this country.
