What's better than momentum? Mo' momentum.
Let's take a closer look at five of this past week's biggest scorchers.
|Supernus Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: SUPN )
|Entropic (Nasdaq: ENTR )
|Lincare Holdings (Nasdaq: LNCR )
|Quicksilver Resources (NYSE: KWK )
|Unisys (NYSE: UIS )
Supernus Pharmaceuticals soared after receiving welcome news from the Food & Drug Administration. The regulatory body has tentatively approved the central nervous system treatment specialist's Trokendi.
Entropic Communications was ready for prime time after the multimedia chip designer boosted its outlook for the current quarter.
Lincare Holdings was the picture of health after a Financial Times story reported buyout interest in the home medical equipment company from two potential bidders.
Quicksilver Resources was a gusher, even though Standard & Poor's downgraded the credit rating of the oil and gas explorer.
Unisys proves that the best offense is sometimes a good defense. The military contractor's stock moved higher after Unisys was awarded a homeland security contract that could be worth as much as $3 billion over the next few years to dozens of victorious companies (including Unisys, of course).
