With earnings season comes volatility, and a few companies in the technology sector showed just that today, as investors reacted to preannouncements from each. Chip maker AMD and data-storage player Quantum both saw big declines in shares after announcing they would miss financial targets, while VOIP telephony company MagicJack Vocaltec's shares surged on better-than-expected results for the quarter.
