Your Kids Still Want iPads in Their Stockings

Market researcher Nielsen has recently released the results of its survey on what kids want for the holiday shopping season. The survey is broken into two age groups: 6-12 and 13+. Just like last year, Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL  ) iPad tops the list, but competitive pressures are heating up. Google  (NASDAQ: GOOGL  ) Android smartphones and Amazon.com  (NASDAQ: AMZN  ) Kindle Fire tablets are also rising in popularity, ranking high among both age groups. Microsoft  (NASDAQ: MSFT  ) , Sony  (NYSE: SNE  ) , and Nintendo will be happy to hear that their respective gaming consoles remain very popular, with Nintendo's Wii U scoring just behind the iPad in the 6-12 age bracket.

There is absolutely no argument that Apple is at the center of technology's largest revolution ever, and that longtime shareholders have been handsomely rewarded with over 1,000% gains. However, there is a debate raging as to whether Apple remains a buy. The Motley Fool's senior technology analyst and managing bureau chief, Eric Bleeker, is prepared to fill you in on both reasons to buy and reasons to sell Apple, and what opportunities are left for the company (and more importantly, your portfolio) going forward.
