Microsoft (MSFT -2.45%) has been beaten up in the media over disappointing Windows 8 sales and the apparent flow of the Surface tablet, but that's given investors a great opportunity to get value in the stock. Trading at nine times next year's earnings estimates, with 30% of its market cap in cash, and seeing only pure upside in the mobile market, Microsoft has become safe stock to own with growth potential going forward.
