Over the past two in-sequester days, the Pentagon has awarded a total of 42 separate contracts to various contractors, worth well over $4 billion in aggregate.

Among many beneficiaries, Boeing (BA 1.51%) won a total of three contracts in two days:

  • A $22.5 million contract to perform in-the-field servicing on the U.S. Army's CH-47 Chinook helicopter fleet at various locations to be determined later. The estimated completion date on this work is Sept. 30, 2015.
  • A $17.9 million contract to perform similar work on non-deployed CH-47 Chinooks, also with a Sept. 30, 2015, completion date.
  • And finally, a $41.1 million contract to provide for the incremental funding to support upgrades on AH-64 Apache attack helicopters to the Block III configuration, also known as the AH-64E, and nicknamed the "Apache Guardian" helicopter. Full-rate production on the AH-64E was approved in October of last year. Work on this project is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2014.
