Eric Schmidt turned heads when he told a gathering of Google (GOOGL 1.27%) fans and users at a recent event in India that Android and Chrome wouldn't merge despite leadership changes. No moves to merge? Nonsense, says Tim Beyers of Motley Fool Rule Breakers and Motley Fool Supernova.

In the following video, Tim points out that Schmidt's justification -- that Android and Chrome "solve different problems" -- doesn't make sense when you consider that Chrome OS is running a variety of Web apps that also have Android versions.

Combining could save time for developers and make it easier to position its handsets and Chromebooks against Apple's (AAPL 0.64%) market-leading options. Do you agree? Disagree? Please watch and then weigh in using the comments box below.
