Zillow (ZG -0.05%) announced today that it has added Spanish-language support for its Zillow Rentals Android app. According to Zillow, it is the first major online real estate company to cater a rental app to the fast-growing Spanish-speaking population in the U.S.

Zillow VP of Rentals David Vivero said in a statement:

With rental markets becoming increasingly competitive, it's particularly important for all renters to have instant access to tools that can help them track the newest listings and contact landlords anytime, anywhere. The Zillow Rentals App is the only dedicated rentals app that enables Spanish speakers to have easy, on-the-go access to important tools and information in their native language when they're making important real estate decisions.

Zillow's press release states that Hispanic and Latino populations are adopting smartphones faster than any other demographic, and that their overall growth rate is four times the nation's average. .

Zillow's database currently includes more than 600,000 rental listings, as well as around 100 million "Rent Zestimates" based on the company's proprietary rent estimation algorithms.
