The Department of Defense announced a series of new defense contracts benefiting the U.S. Navy on Wednesday, with publicly traded companies reaping more than $42 million in awards, including:
- Raytheon (RTN) was awarded a $14.9 million firm-fixed-price delivery order against a previously issued basic ordering agreement. Raytheon will supply 103 Pod Adapter Units and 103 NavFLIR Surrogates for use in attaching Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) pods to Navy F/A-18 E/F fighter jets. The work should be completed by November 2015.
- Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI) won a $12.7 million modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to do IT work in support of the Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology Services (MCEITS) Operations Capability and Enterprise IT Center Operational Support Services (MOC/EITC) and Systems Integration Environment. This contract runs through March 27, 2017.
- British contractor BAE Systems (BAES.Y 1.32%) was awarded $8 million under a Foreign Military Sales contract to procure and repair Common (Identification Friend or Foe) Digital Transponder (CXP) hardware for the governments of Saudi Arabia, Thailand, South Korea, and Denmark, and also for the U.S. Army and Navy. Completion date: August 2015.
- CACI (CACI -0.80%) won $6.5 million in a six-month option extension of a contract to provide "worldwide logistics services in support of Military Sealift Command fleet operations and readiness" through October 2013.
