In the months leading up to the March 2013 "sequester," pundits predicted doom and gloom for the U.S. economy -- and for defense contractors in particular -- as $85 billion in government spending was removed from the economy. To hear them tell it, the revenue streams at Boeing (BA 0.01%) and Lockheed Martin (LMT 0.01%) would soon dry up as Pentagon spending evaporated.
