Big tech companies Google, eBay, Microsoft, and IBM will report earnings on Thursday. In this video, Andrew Tonner outlines two key numbers for Google and eBay.

For Google, Andrew says to watch the cost-per-click metric, which measures how well searches and advertising translate into revenue. This metric has been on the decline -- Android, which is rising in popularity, doesn't deliver ad revenue the way the declining PC platform does -- but look for improvement in this quarter's report.

eBay investors, meanwhile, need to look for payments growth, particularly in the PayPal division, which put in a good showing last year and could become an increasingly important source of revenue for eBay.
