Internet radio service Pandora (P) is extending its partnership with social media giant Facebook (META 0.43%) to make it "effortless" to share what music users listen to with Facebook friends.

The integration allows users to automatically publish listening activity to Facebook's newly launched music section, whether through iPhone, Android, or Pandora.com. Pandora touts people's ability to find new music by checking in on their friends' Pandora activity. Users can opt out of sharing.

On Pandora's blog today, Tom Conrad, chief technology officer, said social media integration is a logical progression for the radio service. "Music is a natural facilitator of connections between people and we're excited to help strengthen those bonds around all of the music you're discovering on Pandora," he wrote.
