George Soros has exited his positions in JPMorgan Chase (JPM 1.44%), Morgan Stanley (MS 1.81%), and several other banks. He's pared his exposure to Citigroup (C 2.82%), cut his stake in AIG (AIG -0.04%) by two-thirds, and sold every share he owns in General Electric (GE 8.28%).

In all, SNL Financial says Soros's financial stock holdings are down 80% from where they were just three short months ago. But why?
