Boeing (BA 0.25%) released its latest report on airplane orders received -- and canceled -- in the first five months of 2013 on Thursday.
To date, the aerospace giant has booked 431 "gross" orders for various flavors of its 737 regional airliner, 29 for the 777 airliner, three 747 orders (the same as last month, and 42 orders for its bedeviled 787 Dreamliner (likewise).
From this total, Boeing subtracted 57 737s, five 747s, and eight 777s for customer cancellations, resulting in a net of 435 commercial airplanes ordered year to date. That's seven more planes than the company showed on its order books last month. According to Boeing's website, all seven of the new plane orders were for 737s and all came from unidentified customers (i.e., customers whom Boeing has been asked not to identify, not customers whose identities Boeing does not know).
