Are Apple and Microsoft Trading Places?

In 1999, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT  ) was the company to which all others were compared... and then the stock spent the next decade trading sideways. Last fall, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL  ) won the title of "biggest company on Earth," soon lost it to ExxonMobil, and has since struggled. As Apple faces declining earnings growth and a reduced rate of innovation, some are wondering if the company has a lost decade ahead. At the same time, sleeping giant Microsoft is showing signs of life.

    It would be if Apple does nothing... which that's exactly what Apple is doing nothing. It hasn't introduce anything innovating or new that other companies haven't done!

    Interesting analogy of two different titans. I've always found it ironic that even though someone might have an Apple appliance, they were utilizing MSFT software to communicate with. I'll continue to add MSFT shares to my portfolio!
