Did TIBCO Finally Answer This Key Question?

When data analysis expert TIBCO Software (UNKNOWN: TIBX.DL  ) reported second-quarter earnings last week, Fool contributor Anders Bylund was looking for information on one issue above all others: Has the company finally come to grips with its underperforming sales team in the Americas?

Non-GAAP earnings fell 31% year over year on flattish revenue, which is a far cry from the double-digit sales growth of years past. But CEO Vivek Ranadive finally sees some light at the end of the tunnel.

In the video below, Anders walks investors through the quarter's key points, including a pearl of Ranadive's own analysis from an exclusive phone interview, and arrives at a satisfying takeaway.

The amount of data we store every year is growing by a mind-boggling 60% annually! To make sense of this trend and pick out a winner, The Motley Fool has compiled a new report called "The Only Stock You Need to Profit From the NEW Technology Revolution." The report highlights a company that has gained 300% since first recommended by Fool analysts but still has plenty of room left to run. Thanks for the interesting vid. Perhaps I missed it, but was there anything other than the CEO's comments that makes you confident of an operational turnaround? Something concrete like expanding the salesforce, changing management of the sales arm, etc?

Ranadive's trying to pitch using Tibco software for Pro Sports teams so they can transmit stats from the games. I guess he thinks Tibco can own the entire Pro Sports world for this type of software. that's why he bought into the Kings to promote Tibco software.
