Corning's New Partnership Could Change the World

Corning (NYSE: GLW  ) recently announced a partnership with View, to help further commercialize View's innovative dynamic glass, which automatically adjusts its tint in response to the surrounding environment.

And while the initial focus for the product will probably be for commercial exterior architectural applications, this is one project simply loaded with growth potential down the road, says Fool contributor Steve Symington in the following interview with the Fool's Erin Miller.

Great presentation. GLW's pretty interesting. Still a decent value and as presented a slyly innovative company.

I thought I heard, maybe a few of quarters back, the CFO mention something about auto glass potential. I haven't been able to find anything since though. Anybody else hear anything about it?

I have not heard anything about that auto glass, however i do own some GLW for over a year. So far they have been slow moving, but that's because they're potential hasn't quite been pushed. With new innovations and technology brings new markets.

Also auto tint on the glass is a really great idea considering how many phones are out there and in places with a lot of sun how you normally see your phone.

Automatic tinting? Don't we already have that with eyeglasses?
