It pays to be invested in the home furnishings business these days, or at least in Haverty Furniture (HVT 0.68%). The company this week declared its latest common stock dividend, which is to be $0.08 per share paid on Sept. 11 to holders of record as of Aug. 26.
That amount is exactly double the firm's previous distribution of $0.04 per share, which was handed out in June.
Haverty also declared a dividend for its class A stock of $0.075. The payment and record dates are the same as those of the common shares.
In the press release announcing the latest distributions, the firm pointed out that it has paid dividends in every year since 1935.
The new common stock payout annualizes to $0.32 per share, yielding 1.2% at Haverty's most recent closing stock price of $26.87.
