I'm curious, by what metric are Canadian banks expensive?

CM has a trailing PE of 9.92 and BNS sits at 10.98. Are these above their historical norms?

Also, both sport fat dividends and each is sitting closer to its 52-week low than its 52-week high.

    Thanks, Paps

I went back and checked and the PE's for these two at least seem to be at the lower end of their ranges over the past 3-, 5- and 10-year periods.
