Bad news, DC movie fans. Actor Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad fame won't be playing Lex Luthor in the sequel to the summer hit Man of Steel.

Fans are now left with the controversial truth that Time Warner (TWX) has signed Ben Affleck to play Batman in the DC movie sequel, Fool contributor Tim Beyers says in the following video.

More than a few have commented here and elsewhere that they won't go to see a comic-book film starring the Academy Award-winning actor. By contrast, fans seemed delighted at the prospect of having Cranston plot Superman's end on the Big Screen. The blend might have been exactly what Warner needed to turn Man of Steel 2 into a billion-dollar film, Tim says.
