A new study led by a research team at the University of Texas at Austin, shows that methane levels from hydraulic fracturing are 20% less than numbers released from the EPA. While leaking methane is the one of the most harmful greenhouse gasses, the news could help oil and gas companies before the 2015 green completions requirements.
