The U.S. Department of Defense awarded two contracts to General Dynamics (GD 0.48%) on Friday, worth a total of $63.8 million combined.
The larger of the two awards, for $48.8 million, took the form of a firm-fixed-priced, indefinite-delivery contract to modernize U.S. Marine Corps Range Training Systems (RTSs). General Dynamics will perform engineering, design, development, and systems integration, work, as well as installing the RTSs and providing training in their use, at Marine Corps training ranges worldwide. It will be working on this contract through September 2016.
General Dynamics' smaller award, worth just under $15.1 million, was a fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to supply the U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Special Communications Requirements Division (SCRD), with up to 80 each of Ku-Band satellite radio terminals, Ka-Band conversion kits, and X-Band conversion kits. Delivery should be completed by September 2016.
