In line with rumors, Apple (AAPL 1.27%) unveiled two new MacBook Pros with Retina displays at Apple's media event today. Both the 13-inch and 15-inch Retina MacBook Pros have been updated with fourth-generation Intel Core processors, assisting the laptops in achieving improved battery life and graphics.

Though the MacBook Pros have kept the same form factor as their predecessors, the smaller 13-inch is slightly thinner, at 0.71 inches. The 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro uses the dual-core Intel Core i5 Processor with up to 2.6 GHz and 3.1 GHz with Turbo Boost. It can be configured with a faster dual-core Intel Core i7 processor with up to 2.8 GHz or 3.3 GHz with Turbo Boost. The new laptop boasts nine hours of battery life, two more hours than the previous version. Pricing starts at $1,299.

The 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro uses the quad-core Intel Core i7 Processor with up to 2.3 GHz and 3.5 GHz with Turbo Boost. It can be configured with a faster quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with up to 2.6 GHz or 3.8 GHz with Turbo Boost. The new laptop boasts eight hours of battery life, one more hour than the previous version. Pricing starts at $1,999.

The new Retina MacBook Pros are available for purchase today through Apple's Online Store, Apple retail stores, and select Apple authorized resellers.
