5 Surprising Stocks in Nancy Pelosi's Portfolio

The current Minority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi is a lot of things: she's the youngest of six children, she's a native of Baltimore, Maryland, a member of the Democratic party, and currently representing California's 12th district -- which covers most of San Francisco.

But what else is Mrs. Pelosi?... Pretty darn rich. According to opensecrets.org Pelosi has accumulated approximately $94 million in net worth; that ranks 9th among all current members of Congress.

While in the process of digging through Mrs. Pelosi's investments, I'll be honest, I was shocked by the sheer size and strength of the portfolio, though, perhaps I shouldn't have been considering the Minority Leader of the House is married to a former investment banker.

So, with a little help from our friends over at opensecret.org, let's take a look at five of the most surprising picks in Nancy Pelosi's Portfolio.

I don't think we should emulating:

    1. Her portfolio (based upon her and husband practicing crony capitalism for many years),

    2. Her behavior (her liberal brand of populism pitting one group of Americans against another),

    3. Her commentary (e.g. when she said 500,000 signed up for Obamacare when actually 26,000 "signed up").

She had access to insider trading and should be arrested and tried for that crime as well as most of the other members or congress. If they were all tried then maybe the country would see just what these people are, leaches and thieves and remove them from the cushy jobs they have in washington.
