Why Are Solar Stocks Crashing?

Solar stocks have been pummeled over the past few weeks but investors shouldn't be bailing on solar stocks just yet. SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR  ) and First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR  ) recently reported outstanding earnings and Canadian Solar (NASDAQ: CSIQ  ) , Trina Solar (NYSE: TSL  ) , and JinkoSolar (NYSE: JKS  ) are all reporting a profit again.

The industry sell-off has been broad based, but with all of this improvement, it might be time to buy solar stocks. Erin Miller sat down with solar analyst Travis Hoium to see what he thinks of these stocks right now.

Seriously ? Really ?? Ok Al Gore, I'll tell you,

Because it is a Lose Lose Proposition anyway you look at it.

One is no ROI as people find out that they have been lied to and they will never make back what they have paid out and once they have to start replacing those panels at double or triple original cost, they will come to the same conclusion and the electric companies will be salivating as they return to them with their tail tucked neatly up their butt. But just keep listening to the leftwing hateocrats as they know it all !!!!

What happens when China stops the flow or rare earths to make solar cells and wind farms? What happens when the people learn that solar and wind require dirty mining producing more CO2 than burning coal? The TRUTH is Obama's greatest fear. The TRUTH is the New York TImes greatest fear.

Unlike the past 5 years, Solar is finally on a real trajectory for the long term. Cost for Solar has fallen immensely over the past year and giants like Apple and Wallmart are fast installing Solar to power their businesses. Still very early in the game ad the stocks are dirt cheap for an industry growing at 80% year over year.

Solar stocks will tank when all the hype fails to hide the fact that solar power is not competitive this side of the Van Allen belts. Sooner or later people are going to get upset about the tax dollars paid to to their neighbors for solar and stop the incentives. At that point, solar has to live on its merits - and its going to die.

They are not crashing. A slight pullback is not a crash. Motley Fool verbiage is ridiculous.

I don't know anything about stocks etc. I do believe Ray Kurzweil and his charts that show that worldwide, all electricity will come from solar by 2027. He accurately predicted the arrival date of the worldwide web about the time that only a few universities used the web.
