Google Glass to Google Contacts: The Game-Changing Diabetes Device You Need to Watch

While many investors who follow Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL  ) may be excited about Google Glass, the company is now also developing a potentially game-changing medical device for diabetics, which will be worn as contact lenses.

In this video, Motley Fool health-care analyst David Williamson looks at Google's new concept, which would provide glucose readings for the patient once per second, giving diabetic patients a much more comfortable and up-to-the-minute method of monitoring blood glucose levels. While the concept is still in the early stages of development, the company has said it has already conducted multiple clinical research studies toward its goal.

    I'm a huge fan of AAPL but it has recently been hitting me.. I think Google will lead the future eventually.

    I hate to bring up the whole lack of Steve Jobs issue but I appreciate a company taking chances and not being afraid to fail whereas Apple feels a bit neutered, they can't just keep playing around with different screen sizes forever.

    Google glass might not be a hit with the public but I can imagine everyone on the NFL working on the side lines wearing one.. along with die hard fans (watching the games right now). Something like that HAS to come.
